Autonomous All Terrain Vehicle, aka, AATV

nice idea

Great idea of using drill motors. Waiting for some killer videos

Good work, i like it

Tracks

I like very much the homemade tracks

I want to use drill motors

I want to use drill motors in a robot but i dont know how to drive them with PWM. I think they will draw hight current to use a simple H bridge like L293.

Much much more than what

Much much more than what that can handle, i haven’t measured it yet, but i’m expecting 15+ amps of stall current, which is more than cheap and easily available controllers handle, so i will have to make one, “odbot” posted a pretty good one here a while ago.

Looks nice! Very nice!

Looks nice! Very nice! Especially homemade tracks! They are fantastic! I’m waiting for a video!

Nice differential drive

Nice differential drive chassis. Would love to see this travel in mud. Should kick some serious dust at full speed  :o)

can you explain a little how

can you explain a little how you did them?

what are those plastic “pipes” you’re using?

Nice
I have wanted to build similar thing (big metal tracks, drill motors) but haven’t had the money yet. And, nice. Looks so good, big tank is a must have to project list

Wow, that thing is

Wow, that thing is aggressive! Very cool, very nice work so far, respect

respect endeed!

respect endeed!

respect…

As all say Respect!!!

I  like the idea of using drill motors because it makes it more powerfull.

I think that if you have used pvc tubes with a little bit bigger diameter could be great because then it could pass over

more harsh  surfaces.

Great work…

wicked sick man…

wicked sick man… the speed is jus 2 good for toy tanks

waiting for the r/c version

seems great

Your robot seems great!

I’m really thinking on building one, but now i haven only a little money. Maybe after summer.

Afterall, i can’t wait to see this one in action!

congrats.

Might take a while, only one of the servos I have was able to control the motors, i’ll figure something out.

Unfortunately it make take a while, only one of the servos I have here is capable of controlling the motor, so only one side is RC… :frowning:
