I’m a professional pilot and novice engineer. I’m looking to create an simple automated rocking chair for my 17 year old special needs daughter. She is 75 pounds and fits nicely in a fold-able camp style rocking chair. She loves rocking in it but she cannot do it herself.
I was thinking of a linear servo that automatically moves in and out without having activate a switch to revers the motion (I can’t find one that does this) or a continuously rotating servo wit a bunge cord or a cam type situation.
Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the creepy music haha, those were haunted rocking chairs which are pretty much the same idea. For your project you would definitely need sturdier pieces and a more powerful servo because in those projects they only needed to move the chair itself but your servo would need to have enough torque to move the chair +75 pounds.
