Hello,
I’m looking for help regarding a robot made from Makeblock parts I ordered from Robotshop. I’m having difficulty finding out how to attach the wheel to the motor shaft. There are screws that go into the hub that you place on the motor shaft but they are too short to reach to the shaft. The makeblock parts can be seen at the website https://www.robotshop.com/ca/en/makeblock-25mm-dc-motor-kit-bluewol.html. Here is a picture that shows the hub and the screw separate. The parts didn’t come with any other screws that should fit. Do you have any suggestions?
@volcan25 The kit should have included black set screws (i.e. screws with no “head”) which are threaded into the hub perpendicularly (there should be one or two threaded holes facing into the center of the hub from the perimeter). Normally you need an allen key to thread them. They can be seen at the upper right of the product image in your link. If you purchased the kit from RobotShop and it didn’t include these screws, please write back here with your order number.
It seems I only have one set screw so I must have misplaced the others. Is there any way I can order a few more? Also, while we’re at it I was wondering how the set screws could fit in the hole which are a lot larger than the set screws.
We don’t seem to carry the set screw on its own, but can likely find the specs so you can find an appropriate replacement set screw (or screw if it’s easier). The set screw “hole” should be on the outer perimeter facing inward, facing the center bore, and should fit the thread perfectly.
Thanks. Could you please send me the specs or let me know where I can get them from?
It seems like it might be an M3x8 set screw, but to be certain, you should reach out to:
