Attaching the Sharp GP2D12 IR Sensor to a brat?

I’m converting my ps2 brat to a autonomous brat and I was wondering if you have to use double sided tape to attach the
Sharp GP2D12 IR Sensor or is there a way to attach it using two 2-56 x .250?
