Attaching encoders to dc motors

Hello,

I would like to attach my own encoder to a dc motor. So, my question is where in the rear of a dc motor can you attach an encoder (i.e. heds encoder, etc.)?

Most of the dc motors I have seen don’t seem to have an area in the rear to do this since there is no shaft.

Hi Mike,

Most DC motors will not allow that, you need a motor with dual shaft to handle the encoder.
