I have been doing some snoopoing and it seems that the Atom Pro is ore diffuicult to work with than the Basic Atom. which one should I get? by the way I am very new to programming, and when I say new I mean never tried and am still very scared…,lots…really scared
You might want to pick up a beginners book to basic programming. Sounds like you need a bunch of “Hello World” examples. I started onTI basic in the mid 80’s then on to Qbasic late 90’s to Visual basic. I never mastered any of them, but with each language, I was able to develop a working program at least.
Not really. The languages are nearly identical between the Atom and the AtomPro. You should get the one that fits your needs. If you don’t plan on writing much of your own code(using other people examples) then the Atom has more examples. If however you plan on learning the language then I recommend the AtomPro. It takes very little to convert any Atom code to AtomPro code if you’ve read through the syntax manual.
so i should just get the get started kit offered by lynxmotion for the basic atom? thanks.
I’ve heard that the major difference between the two are hardware implimentation.
Perhaps someone who knows what they’re talking about could elaborate upon that (I don’t want to lie).
You would be fine with just an atom. If you had a really complex program where you need the extra speed, then perhaps the atom pro would be the better choice. Since you are a beginning programmer, you would not likely utilize the full potential of the atom pro. I say keep it simple for now, you can always upgrade later on down the road when you feel the need for something with more “umph” for your projects.
With the SSC32, much of the micro processing is free for other tasks.
