Assembly line robot from scratch?

Hello, 

Im new to robotics, and i have this assembly line idea that i want to transform into reality. But, im not sure which robot kit to get.

What i need the robot to do is the following:

Transfer object on belt

Weight Sensor

Claw/Grabber.

I have seen and read about both Vex EDR and Makeblock U Kit 2.0. However, im not sure which one to get the EDR is quite expensive and near my budget limit, and the Makeblock is quite cheap in price and feel (from what i read). So if you guys can help me i would appreciate it.

Conveyor Belt

For a limited budget, you need an RC based robot arm which can support the reach and payload capacity for your application. You’ll also need a force sensor, and the belt itself.

Makeblock’s Ultimate Kit will provide a lot of parts which you don’t need for your application; same for VEX EDR.
