sigh I hate it when an app steals my page, and when I come back, my post is gone…
I’ve got my T-Hex 3DoF beastie re-assembled with the new hardware, and need to ‘tune’ the servos. But when I went to the first link in the Tutorial on the Lynxmotion site, the link was dead. Is there an up-to-date replacement yet?
I don’t wanna blow up my boards in the process of setting my bot up - So I’m asking you veterans before I even plug the servos into the SSC-32, and even before connecting that to the BotBoarduino and Remote Control unit.
I also was given a page by the Digi rep (for my xBee modules) for upgrading them from Znet 2.5 to ZB. Do I need to be super-careful? Do I need any extra or special hardware, software, cables or experience to do this safely?
I can take pics of all my gear and list its specs if it helps…

and if its too quiet here, where ~should~ I be posting this query/request? *
Also I would not install the 2.04gp firmware on the SSC-32, but instead would install one of the more recent ones that have the letters egp at the end of it. Assuming still available, you can still use Lynxterm to do the servo offsets. However you can probably also do this later depending on which software you run on your processor… You may also want to look at one of the other tutorials that was setup for a different hexapod running on the botboarduino, like: lynxmotion.com/images/html/build172.htm The problem is that some of the instructions in it like the proper way to align the servo and potentially which servo connects to what may not be correct. For those details you probably want to look at the T-Hex tutorial…
Or you may want to go and use my more current hexapod code, that includes a configuration file specific for the T-Hex, which you can find up at: github.com/KurtE/Arduino_Phoenix_Parts
As for updating your XBees, not sure what you are doing. I am mainly using Series 1 XBees and have left them with standard configurations. I may update their firmware if necessary, but not to use different network configurations. Sounds like yours might be Series 2…
This is probably the best place to ask questions specific to Lynxmotion products. Yes it is quite up here! The problem is that the company and forum is feeling less and less like the old Lynxmotion. This is especially true after the merge of forums. So I am afraid that many of the old timers have moved on and the few of us who are left spend a lot of our time energies elsewhere… But we still try to answer questions.
