I just noticed the ASBI-04 and -24 brackets. I get it that the -24 has a servo hub hole pattern in the previously blank (servo backside) side of the bracket.
The ASBI-04 bracket looks the same as my old ASB-04 brackets. What’s the change? Pix of the new parts used in a project?
Well looks like I ordered the wrong long ‘C’ brackets to put my last two 3DOF T-Hex legs together. I got ASB-05 instead of ASB-10. They’re black, which I also didn’t want (everything else I have is brushed aluminum). I must have blindly flipped the bracket over three times before I realized that it only had a 3mm hole on one side, instead of a servo horn pattern.
As I don’t want to wait another week to get parts, I think I’ll try to drill the bearing hole and the four 3mm holes for the servo pattern.
We really don’t have many brushed parts left - almost all of the stock is black.
This change was done before RobotShop acquired Lynxmotion, but it makes sense to use the SES pattern rather than a random hole. ASB-24 is not currently part of any kit.
I hadn’t remembered it, even as I had commented. Thanks for the link. Does that mean all legs should use the centered (inline) brackets? I thought the brackets were centered pretty well already. I don’t remember the discussion that lead to the development of the brackets.
