Arduino hexapod

Hexapod robot with 2dof leg.
I normally use PICs but i choose to use arduino because it has a servo library that makes the code very easy.I still need to finish the bottom layer of the chassis and the electronic part .Soon the image of the finished robot and also some videos.
Sorry for my bad english.

Update 17/11 i complete the bottom chassis and assembled all the robot together to make sure that everything was fine. i am charging the battery so i can test the electronic. i attach new photos

Update 20/11 i finish the robot! it works very well and now i am programming the different walking gait.It can carry one 1,5 l coca cola bottle without any problem.

Upload the video of the robot sorry for the bad quality, asap i will remake the video.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://community.robotshop.com/robots/show/arduino-hexapod

Cool chassis (perfect for a spider bot, even with 6 legs). Did you cut this by yourself?

Please show the progress…don’t wait for the robot get finished

For cut the chassis i use a laser cnc.

What material did you use?

Chassis has a neat design, what did you design it in?

That looks like aluminun but as I recall that stuff takes a big laser and dosent cut that well on a laser, plasma and waterjet work better.

sorry but i don’t uderstand

sorry but i don’t uderstand what do you mean with : “what did you design it in?”.

The chassis is alluminium and cutting it with the laser leave a lot of “garbage” around the cut that i sand out.

If its a CNC laser you probably used some kind of cad package
Which one?

i use this free cad software

i use this free cad software http://a9cad.softonic.it/ and then i simply send the .dxf to the company and they cut the parts.

Help programming walking gait

Can someone point me some resources about hexapod walking gait?

finish

i finished the robot now it walks. When i have some time i will make a video.

Nice Robot!

Your walker was one of 3 that inspired me to make an aluminum walker. Specifically it was the web pattern on the main chassis that I like on your robot. I’m building a Jansen style instead of a hex. Here’s my favorite walking robot Mechadon!

Here's the other robot that inspired me:

Thank you psychofreaky.

Thank you psychofreaky.

Great bot.

And, your English isn’t half bad either.

For future reference, there is a language for PICs called JALv2 or just JAL, www.justanotherlanguage.org , that has a number of libraries included with it. It also supports a fair number of PICs.

Thanks for sharing your creation.

Thank you for the link.i

Thank you for the link.i didn’t know about this.

Thums UP

!

bellissimo!!

It´s said that robotics is about electronics, mechanics and software all molded by an idea, but in this case I´d add art as pillar too.

This chassis is a masterpiece,

great work!!!

Thank you very much, i

Thank you very much, i really appreciate your words.
