Arduino compatibility of Actuonix’s linear actuators for different positions

Hi experts!

Good day! I am reaching out to inquire about the Arduino compatibility of Actuonix’s linear actuators.

We are considering Actuonix’s linear actuators for a graduate research project. A key requirement for our application is the ability to control the actuator to move to five specific positions—100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0% of its stroke length—via an Arduino microcontroller, using a temperature-based algorithm.

Could you please confirm if these linear actuators are compatible with Arduino microcontrollers for this type of control? Are there additional components needed for it to be fully compatible?

The product we are considering is Actuonix P16-P Linear Actuator, 150mm, 22:1, 12V w/ Potentiometer Feedback (https://ca.robotshop.com/products/actuonix-p16-p-linear-actuator-150mm-221-12v-w-potentiometer-feedback).

Thank you for your support!

Hello @calebdelmundo ,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

Yes, this actuator is compatible with Arduino boards.

You will need a 12v power adapter and a motor driver.

Here’s a short video by the manufacturer demonstrating a similar application:

Feel free to contact us again if you need further assistance.
