Arducam Turn on Time

Hello,
I am looking for a camera that uses as little power as possible. These 2 look like possible options:

What I need is something that can last for months on battery power and occasionally turn on and take a picture in less than 1 second.

How long do these cameras take to turn on and take a picture? Low power mode (5V 20mA) is too much power, the camera must be powered off most of the time.

The 5MP says it supports external hardware trigger but I don’t see that in the 2MP versions documentation. Does the 2MP support that also?

Can it take a picture from external hardware trigger and store it until Arduino or Raspberry Pi boots up and is ready to read it?

Lighting: Will this work outdoors in day and night, with IR LED flash for night mode? Will 940nm IR flash work with it?

Are there any other cameras that could be a better fit for these requirements?

Thanks for any help.

Does anyone know how long it takes either of these cameras to turn on and take a picture?

Hi,

Thank you. I tried that too, hopefully they get back to one of us.

Here is the reply we got from Arducam about OV5640 and OV2640 starting time :
