Arducam OV5642

Hi All,

I’ve just placed an order with Robotshop for a: ArduCAM Mini Camera Module Shield w/ 5 MP OV5642 for Arduino
My understanding is that this will plug directly into the arduino without the need for an Arducam shield. However, I think there might be a difference between the above and the OV5642 Mini **Plus **which does not need a shield according to Arducam. I think the word ‘shield’ in the description above is confusing me.

If someone could confirm if I am correct or not that would be helpful.

Having read further, I think I need to purchase arducam.com/arducam_shield_v2-bot/ to work with the OV5642 mini, this would be a nice solution as it has an SD card built in. Am I thinking along te right lines? Any help would be gratefully received.

Any success / progress with the project? As you discovered, an intermediate shield helps a lot with connections.
