Hi,
I recently bought the Arducam extension module and have managed to get it set up and working using the HDMI cable from my Xbox. However, when I try using the 10m “High speed HDMI 1.4 cable with ethernet” my camera just shows a white screen. The small red light on the camera module board still lights up but I can get no picture. Am I using the wrong type of cable? What do I need to do to get this working?
This does sound like it could be what my problem is, but before I go out and buy another 10m cable, I have tested it with another “High Speed HDMI with Ethernet” cable, a 2 metre length, and the extension module works fine.
Do the ethernet cables fail after a certain length, or does this indicate that the problem might be something different?
This indicates that the problem might be something different. Maybe the quality of the cable in combination with its length as it is right on the tested limit.
The manufacturer mentioned that up to 10m cables were tested (more than 10 meters wasn’t tested) but they didn’t mention if they were standard or with Ethernet, or if that’s a factor that could affect.
It might be a good idea to contact the manufacturer directly.
