Received this unit and am trying to program it today. My system does not recognize the Arduino. It’s supposed to be a Leonardo; I plug it in and I get no response. Other boards I have plug in, the USB interface makes happy noises, and I can recognize them and the port they are assigned to; this one gives me no port to look for and no indication the board is plugged in. Do these need a specific driver or something? Or is mine just dead out of the box? I need to know soon so I can get a replacement out today.
Thanks,
Jim Engelhardt

Hi Jim,
Those are indeed Arduino board internally, you can look at your Device Manager to confirm the computer does see anything connected first.
Then you can try to install the drivers found HERE about the Leonardo board.
Best regards,
The computer sees nothing in Device Manager. I’ve tried it on two separate computers with the same result.
Do you have another USB cable that you could try ?
Are you using the board with nothing connected to it at the moment ?
Have tried different USB cable. Other arduinos connect but not this one. Board is in its Ardbox housing - not going to disassemrle & void warranty. Nothing connected to I/O but the USB cable.
At the moment since it’s time sensitive, open and look if something stupid avoid it to connect.
Tomorrow morning we will see if we can do something with the RMA team

Am out now, will do when I get back & update you. Will probably be after closing as I am on the Left Coast. I have already ordered a backup to be overnighted…
Opened it up. USB Cable plugs directly into Arduino. All of the indicator lights on the Arduino are lit permanently. It’s quite dead.
I would like to ask that as you shipped me a dead unit, either you waive or reduce the overnight shipping charge, or that you send an additional Arduino Leonardo with the replacement unit, as I have little confidence in this unit at the moment - I’ve bought one, and 100% of them didn’t work.
Never mind the replacement arduino; I have 3 on the way from Amazon. I still want the extra Ardbox just in case; it would be good if I could get some break on the shipping cost.
Hi Jim,
So after all, have you tested the ARDBOX with another Arduino board ?
It could be the Arduino but also the rest of the components that affect the board.
We sent your ticket to our RMA department. This product is DOA if not working out of the box so we will exchange it.
Best regards,
I have pulled the Arduino and it is quite dead. I am awaiting arrival of new Arduinos to see if it’s the Arduino or the supporting hardware. You have shipped another controller overnight; as this one was DOA I think I deserve a break on the shipping charges.
Hello all,
Replaced the Leonardo. That was the problem; it was dead out of the water. So, now I have a working shield, a dead arduino, and an Ardbox arriving tomorrow which was overnighted that I no longer need. This being the case, I propose that you send me a return label for the Ardbox and reverse the charges for it and the overnight shipment, and I’ll eat the cost of the arduino and the time and trouble of troubleshooting my brand new product. Fair enough?
Hi Jim,
Please answer to the support center ticket and our Return / RMA team will let you know the available options.
Best regards,
Well, Eric, now the Raspberry Pi that you guys shipped me, which had obviously been opened before I got it, is dead out of the box. What;s the deal, do you guys just put returns back on the shelf without testing or what? Both of the items I received were DOA.
Hi Jim,
We can assure you that we do not put stuff in stock without testing.
It would be very bad for us as we pay for shipping when products are defective.
Have you ordered a NOOB SD card at the same time?
What has been used to test the Pi?
All the best,
I have pulled the sd card out of an existing RPi setup. Essentially I replaced the board in an otherwise working Pi2 setup; the only thing different is the lack of a Micro SD card adapter as none was needed…
Feh. Found the bad solder joint on the Micro USB port. This is not my week for electronics.
It was a cold solder on the main USB (power) port ?
You are right, it’s not your week for electronics. It’s now up and running ?
Yes and yes.
It’s only Monday at noon and I already need a drink.
