as title states, has anyone made a hybrid? wondering how silver brackets with black brackets would look 
Everyone does it all the time. Depending on what you have at hand or if you like the complexion of the two colors. GO FOR IT! 
Black and silver look very good together. I say go for it!
-If you want more silver than black, then just use more silver components.
-If you want more black than silver, then just use more black components. In some cases this means using the largest component and making it the primary color of choice.
