Anybody know much about rotating a video image on NTSC?

I have been working on a tracked vehicle that can ran upside down or right side up. It is symmetric except for the video. I use the flip function on a sabertooh to correct the driving but I also want this to correct the video image. I can go through the menu on my current LCD but its about 15 steps to go through the menu screens. ( I want to use a single flip of a switch to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mount your cam on a servo so it can be rotated 180 deg.

I didnt leave much information about the robot but the space is extremly limited and there is no room for another servo.

theres always room for more servos.

without room for adding anything like a servo it also knocks out the idea of mounting the camera on a weighted device so it works rather like a gyroball.

it would then seem a better option to change how you view the image. some monitors can allow you to flip the image. i would start by looking into that. many Security camera screens have this function with one button selection.

do you have a picture of the robot. we will get a better idea of what maybe able to be done.

haha youre right there SHOULD always be room for more servos, but im just out of room. Trying to go down a 4 inch DI pipe. I am fine with switching the image at the monitor, just wondering if anyone out there knew of a way of doing that, with a aftermarket or inline type of switch.

i see. sounds loke an interesting “inspection” project?

There are video switchers/mixers, and video effect generators that can do this. But they arnt all cheap.

Some of the “cheaper” devices are the sima sed-em, sim sfx-m, se-200 pro.
Ampex switchers are capable of doing this. But they are fairly expensive, and quiet large.

What software are you using to view the image though? some live video viewers have this flip view at a click of the button.

Edit, WebcamMax will let you do this by adding an effect. Your stream goes into WebcamMax and then your media encoder uses the WebcamMax webcam.
