Any place I can find good scematics for making a joule thief?

Also can I only increase voltage with AC or can I use DC? Unlike a standard step up transformer.

Hey @Ericw,

According to the example from the link. if you use a transformer, your AC side is short circuited.

On the DC side, for example, if the voltage is dropping, then you will have a smaller amount of current and your LED would shine less bright.
