Any motor controllers that supports a brushed DC motor with an encoder?

I am looking to buy the “12V, 23RPM 4166.2oz-in HD Premium Planetary Gearmotor w/ Encoder” (Product Code : RB-Sct-1025) on RobotShop but cannot find any motor controllers that will take the output from the NE12 encoder. In fact, it looks like even the motor OEM doesn’t make a controller that supports the encoder.

Has anyone worked with this motor-encoder combo and had any luck finding an adequate controller? I am looking to use the motor in a similar fashion to a servo for robot steering purposes (after some further gearing). Thank you!

There’s a motor driver from the manufacturer that is compatible with the motor and its encoder but we haven’t received it yet.
