Another look

I’m taking a look at the latest update (October 2006 CTP) of Microsoft Robotics Studio. I never could get anything good from the August version, but this new version may have potential.

I may have found a reason to add a Bluetooth wireless link to Walter sooner than I had planned. I looked at the Basic STAMP 2 code for MSRS, thinking I might be able to easily convert it to work on the Basic ATOM, but it looks like it will be easier to just write new software from the ground up.

Since W.A.L.T.E.R. (the robot formerly known as Octabot) is also a differential drive two wheel robot like the BOE-Bot, it should not be difficult to get MSRS to control it once I have a software interface working. I can at least model it after the Basic STAMP code.

I probably won’t work on this much until I get Walter a Bluetooth connection, which won’t be for at least a couple of months. However, if I get bored, I may start working on the software interface. I have other projects that come first right now, like adding the Nubotics Wheel Watchers and Wheel Commander to Walter to close the loop on the locomotion system.

Yeah August version was not much different from the previous one
