Hello,
I need reference about the angle accuracy of the Lynxmotion Pan and Tilt Kit.
So in which step size it’s able to set a precise angle value.
Best,
Alex

@robert23 Welcome to the RobotShop Community. Accuracy and angle have really everything to do with the servos used. That pan/tilt uses:
With a signal of 500us to 2500us, it can rotate 0 to 180 degrees (or -90 to +90). This means a theoretical accuracy of 180/2000 = 0.09 degrees per pulse. However that is not the reality as backlash in the internal gears alone makes it at least 0.5 to 1.0 degrees off. Add torque to impede motion and the actual accuracy is closer to around 1 to 2 degrees or even higher if the load is higher.
@cbenson thank you very much for your fast and detailed response.
I’ll check some better servos, since I need an accuracy of at least 1.0 degree.
The brackets are compatible with Hitec standard sized servos like the 322, 422, 425, 645 etc.
The LSS have a theoretical accuracy of 1.0 degrees and you could make a pan/tilt using the following parts. Note that they can be oeprated via serial or RC signals.

1x Lynxmotion SES-V2 Aluminum Double Wide Bracket for LSS - RobotShop (or single wide)
1x Lynxmotion SES-V2 Aluminum Short C Bracket - RobotShop (or long)
that looks good. could be suffucient for my needs!
