I am building a four wheeled robot who construction is now mostly complete, hence I am now working of the autonomous control software. I am currently using Port and Starboard as designation for which side is which to follow the convention of aircraft/ships and after some searching I have found in Marine Insight that the Port side is considered Y+ and the Starboard is considered Y-.
Many questions is:
Is there a standard with respect to which side of a robots chassis (Anatomy) is considered positive or negative?
eg. Turn 30deg. Plus or Minus (Port or Starboard)
