Ampage limit of slip rings

Hi there,

I’m looking for a slip ring that I can use to pass through the wires for a done motor. The slip rings I’ve come across on this website show for a voltage of upto 2 Amps, however the current requirements for drone motors can often be 40Amps. Should I keep looking or am I missing something?

Cheers for reading.

@jack798 Welcome to the RobotShop Community. You research is about right… passing 40A per cable in a slip ring is really really rare; the limitation is not the wire but rather the contact point between the slider and the metal ring which passes the current. One approach would be to try to use many wires of a multi-wire slip ring to better distribute the current (not all via one cable).

Genius! Thanks @cbenson
