ok well a gave in.
here is the polyurethane resin head.
Wow, Jonny!
A face only a mother, or John Hurt, could love. Well done!
The hardest part will be fitting the mech inside the resin head.
Shakespeare shot coming up!
I have had to strip down the mech so that it will fit. The âUnitâ is now together and im just waiting for the adhesive to dry.
i should then be able to flip it back the right way, and then start adding some latex âskin graphsâ iv made to make the âUnitâ Seamless.
The nice thing about the polyurethane resin, is it looks like bone. feels like im holding a large skull.
Skin Graph:
Looking great and scary. Now you need to hook it up near your front door with some type of motion or distance sensor, and when someone walks up have it move. But be careful you donât want to cause a heart attack!
Kurt
Great to see it coming together!
I bet its going to be exciting to see how the flexible skin/lips will perform in action. Its going to be scary cool!
Thanks guys, well.
take a look:
Awesome!
I love it!
You sure donât waste any time before posting a new videoâŠ

WOW!!! I was just previewing my reply bemoaning the fact that the video was reported unavailable when I was directed to this post and ran the video through this link.
I know youâre not even finished yet, but THIS IS AMAZING!!!
How soon can he come out to play?
Ted, great you found the right link.
Thank you bud.
i have a few fabrication problems to deal with before i can say im happy with it.
**first **i had to modify the mech to fit into the resin cast.
second, due to the mod i didnt get to assemble the cast and mech as intended, meaning the electronics are now locked away inside, and also means i have to move the power switch.
Third, as i had to stretch the resin casing a bit for the mech to fit inside, i now means that the bottom (neck) doesnt line up with the top!
might need to recast!!
anyway, i thought id test out the paint work to see how it covers.
EDIT: Link Fixed!
Iâve been running through âAlien Xenomorphâ topic (again), and I ran across this. It exemplifies the good ole, red-blooded American, compulsion to escape normalcy.
You are one seriously strange dude, Robot Dude; I like that in a person. 8) No wonder you have risen to the top of a venture designed to populate the planet with legions of little machines perpetually plotting to elude ultimate control by their human parents.
Donât ever change man!
I should reach the frontier in about six weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Innerbreed, last Video of this project, signing off. âŠ
It is probably because i donât understand you with my english⊠lol
But i what do you mean⊠you give up ?
its a quote from the film.
Hi Innerbreed,
First, outstanding video! I am reminded of âWe are not worthy. We are not worthy.â
Second, I thought I would give you a day to rest up after your marathon effort, but DiaLFonZo beat me to it. The wording of your quote sounds awfully much like you will never, ever again treat us to a video of your Alien. If that is so, it is our loss and perhaps a chance for you to get a grip on normality once again.
Third, given your amazingly realistic artistry and your animatronic virtuosity, how about adding some characters to your âAlienâ crew? May I suggest starting with Ripley or Lambert. They should sell better than canes.
Thanks again for your wonderful posts.
Hi Ted, Well i do plan to record more of the alien in action. maybe next time with the drawl coming from its teeth?
The project is not finished.
thanks for the comments once again.
new project lined up too.
Impressive FX. I like what you did in the beginning with the 3D introdiction. I also like the professional looking credits at the beginning and end of the video. What did you use to create the credits?
Thanks.
The opening title screen was rendered using a program called âBlenderâ took 16 hours to render the 600 frames used!
The credit typeface i used was called SteelTongs
Then the video was produced just using Windows Movie Maker!
