I should start building the larger jaw mech later day. just waiting for some more materials.
You have a very creative mind which explains why you could come up with so many unique SES desings. Very cool.
Thanks Mike.
Presently im working on the larger scale jaw.
here it is so far. still more sculpting to do but its getting there.
First Glance
Top Jaw, Showing Holes For The Lip Wire
here you can see the teeth are not the same as āAlienā. id like a custom look to this and i think the molars and incisors look cool.
The upper and lower jaws are cast in durable urethane resin of a large North American wolverine(gulo gulo).
Jaw measurements: width = 2 7/8" (as measured across the rear molar teeth at the widest point), length = 2 1/2" (as measured from the incisors to the last molar tooth).
The mold was taken directly from a real skull, and is detailed down to the pores and texture of the bone.
Ideal for me anyway.
im currently moulding these in Silicone Rubber. i have to do one at a time due to only having one mould box!
once i have them both moulded - in about 48 hours - i can pore in polyurethane liquid and make hallow casting of the jaw.
i have also been working on the jaw Mecca. SES of course!

Sculpture just popped right out!

most of this will be covered over by the ājaw tendonsā but i thought id add some details.
You have your own signature line of craft sticks! Look at you!
Incredible cool stuff Jonny!
My wife said that!

just a quick video to show one of the processes used in making these Jaws.
I aināt take the time to write here yetā¦
But again innerbreed your amazing. You have a lot of talents !!
thanks eric,
well its always nice to try new things. im making a slight change to the jaw mech. This will allow for better positions for the control servos and it will allow me to work at a better pace.
im thinking of ordering some more SintraĆĀ® for the job. its easy to use but i might also take you up on āthat offerā and send you some drawings!
Yes for sure.
The CNC is not finished yetā¦ But i can draw your parts in the meantime (I think āMeantimeā is the wordā¦ weak englishā¦ lol)
eric, there has never been anything wrong with your English.
ā¦iāll send you some sketches

Wow, thats just beautiful!
Looking forward to see some lips and skin. Have you considered to combine this craftsmanship/animatronic stuff to a real robot creature? Would be incredible cool if you ask me.
Btw, I just removed the hijack postsā¦
thanks zenta for cleaning the board.
yes my plan is to do just that. once i find a suitable application/idea i will apply/combine these elements of robotic and animatronics into a ātoyā.
i have a few ideas lined up for such a thing, but while im learning more about āBothā areas, i will carry on the road im on,
in till such a time.
Iām sure youāll come up with something very interesting!
There are so many creatures to be inspired from, both real nature and science fiction. Example, the six legged beast Thanator from the avatar movie.
