AL5D Inverse Kinematics spreadsheets, need 3D version?

I’m new to robotics, just ordered an AL5D and will add it to an automated test stand for auto radios. I need to determine the (25+?) necessary endpoint positions from my x,y,z coordinates to send to the SSC-32 using serial (VCP) messages.

The Lynxmotion sample IK spreadsheets seem to only do x & y.

Is there a reason for this, or am I missing something? Can anyone point me to a 3D IK spreadsheet, preferably that handles all the servos on the AL5D, including the optional wrist rotation?

A standalone executable program for Windows might also work (but I haven’t used any programming languages since they stopped using line numbers  , so source code, sourceforge projects, etc. probably won’t help).

Thanks!

Gary

Hi,

We recommend that you have a look at this post concerning 3D IK for the AL5D. You may also find this one interesting. You may also want to check this document.

You can also check this example on the Lynxmotion GitHub.

Sincerely,
