AL5D Arm Assembly

It would be nice to know exactly which Lexan parts need to have a protective covering removed, or, if it’s all of them, which parts are Lexan.

In Step 2, what do the “mechanical dampening panels” look like before they are installed? I have a pair of disk-like objects that resemble those shown in the diagram in Step 2, but are connected by a thin strip. Am I supposed to break them apart? Will I then need to trim any material remaining on either disk from the connecting piece? One surface (of both disks) is black, while the other surface is a shiny medium gray with some miscellaneous words printed on it.

Now what?

If you purchased the arm recently, you should use these guides:

The Lexan parts have a yellow powder on them from the cutting process. They include the mechanical dampeners in step 2 and the little gripper connector in step 13.

Correct. They come connected to each other for convenience and can be broken apart by hand.

It’s up to you if you would like to trim the little piece of plastic connecting the two - it won’t affect the movement of the arm. Both sides of all Lexan parts include protective plastic which should be removed.
