I put this new topic to have your advice / help.
My AL5A robotic arm was tired of doing the same things …
I thought of a rover, too expensive.
I thought of checkers, I still think better, but I’m not so convinced.
I thought of building a robotic hand (3 fingers / 5 fingers) to match the arm (instead of the grip).
Then, with a program that recognizes objects and / or color via a webcam, to move the arm to get to grab a red ball for example.
Only I would like some advice.
The robotic hand, however, I would like to build.
But not a robotic hand and three fingers of 3 servos tight.
I would also build up over time, something a little more sophisticated.

Hands can be quite tricky and i think unless you have the ability to make your own parts.
anyway i think the choice of hand design would be very easy to “replicate”. by replicate i mean you could get the fingers to act in the same way. but this would mean more servos than you would actually need to just make a robot hand. http://twistedsifter.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/robotic-hand.jpg
i say be smart. why not try and go for a 5 fingered hand that used less servos.

we have two servos shown in RED
Servo arm in GREEN
the top Blue wire connector the is pivoted from the servo horn controls the fingers and pulls them down at the same time. then we have another BLUE horn that moves the Thumb and also supplies additional movement to the fingers by pully the index/pointing fingers in movement with the thumb. its an illusion, and makes it seem the fingers are all independently controlled.
The other one uses a rotate motor to shown in RED that allows the side fingers to move around.
a slightly more technical design with lost of internal working to get the fingers to close. could be done with servos but it would be a massive hand, unless you plan to use a Pull - Pull system with wires.

EDIT: I decided: I build the Animatronic hand with some modification…I use 5 servo for 5 finger, 1 servo to tighten the fingers, 1 servo for the movement of wrist and then, 1 servo for the rotation of arm/wrist, 1 servo for the movement of elbow…and in the future I want build an human (In a future very very veeeery far away)
I don’t understand the mechanism for open and close the fingers in the mode as images…
Can you explain me this?

And you think, what material it is made hand?
it seem there is another Pull-Pull system on the back of the hand. you can see it actuating in the video. you could add a servo as shown to control the “Spread” of the fingers. my guess is that it could use a simple Gearing mech or push rods.
Bare in mind the actual hand in the video doesn’t actually have the servo install into the palm, but it uses cables on a Pull Pull system that would feed down to servos control box. but all the same you could use servo with in the hand so it would be directly driven.

First Finger’s Test
In this test, I feel the movement of a finger that will be used for the robotic hand.

Yes I would.
However the design of the hand I have it ready, that I am missing is the material! I do not know how to build parts such as the last video I posted … I thought about using a gun in hot silicon.
I think that’s how to build it:
buy an aluminum tube as wide as a finger;
with the heat gun “shot” and construct various silicone tubing silicone;
I finish each tube with a hacksaw and drill silicone.
If you know a CAD gratis for Linux at least tell me I’ll show you the design for the finger …
