Afinibot A9 vs. A3

Folks,

I am on the market for a 3D printer with 100 microns resolution or preferably better (20-50 microns), but at a teacher budget price. I really like the specs, construction and design of the Afinibot A9 printer, but since I cannot find any reviews on the Web, my primary concern is reliability and durability of the device.

Is there anything you can tell me about customer or service experiences with this printer, how solid its construction is, etc.? How does it compare with the A3?

Is this printer provide with the printing software? I already have access to 3D design software.

Finally, do you offer any educational discounts?

Please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

The “Afinibot” printers are based on open-source 3D printers. Mostly RepRap systems so they use very common electronics and parts.
About the A9, it feature an aluminum extrusion construction and is partially assembled. Only the final assembly need to be completed.

We didn’t have much feedback about it other than the “Laser” software being in an asian language.
It’s fairly easy to use once you look at it’s user manual but still not in English.

The printing software is provided but also being a free software not from Afinibot itself.
We do have educational discount, just contact us by our Support Center if you want to know more about it.

The A3 is a full kit which require assembly and it’s construction material is Acrylic which is less durable and can crack over time or if you over-tight the screws.
