Hi I purchased one of these printers from your site back in the early 2016 it has been doing great until now. I am having a problem getting the extruder to heat up to 230’C for printing ABS what happens is it will get to 228’C and it won’t go any higher it starts decreasing temp down to 225’C and back up to 228’C it will keep on doing this. I am not sure what is causing the extruder to do this on the printer and any help would be great.
Hi Mustang,
You might want to look at the temperature probe on the side of the extruder.
If it’s not fully inserted, you might not read the right temperature and the system will never be able to reach it.
All the best,
I got a hold of the company and they suggested I try it with the side fan off (one with the heatsink) and the temperature is working again is it possible I had the fan on backwards or when printing abs you need the fan off.
The fan will cool the head so it might be an issue if it’s too effective.
Since most people print in PLA it’s easy to reach the temperature as with ABS you need higher temperature.
Trying with the fan OFF will not hurt anything and you will be set fast.
