Afinibot A3, is there a way to turn off without unplugging?

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the 3d printer without unplugging, some sort of sleep mode or such.
I’ve been having the issue where when I plug it back in, the LCD screen remains blank with two rows of solid white squares, and will not boot until I use a hair dryer to warm up the board… this appeared to have started happening few months ago, before that it was perfectly fine. I was thinking maybe because I was doing a hard shut down of the Afinibot 3D printer after I’m done using it, by unplugging the power chord. But I have no idea how else I can turn it off… I am just trying to figure out how to boot my printer without any issues, without having to plug in my hair dryer each time to warm up the board.

If someone could assist me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Zirak,

The only way is to un-plug it unfortunately.
Have you tried to power up the printer without the USB cable and/or the SC card ?

Let us know,

Yes I have, thanks for asking. Before the full boot up completes, the fan on the side runs very loudly and the display just shows two sets of white squares regardless of whether the USB cable, or SD card is plugged in or not.

It seems to only fully boot up when I use a hair dryer, and while using the hair dryer, the red LED suddenly blinks on the board, and then it finally begins to do the full boot. It never did this before, so it is very odd that it does this.

Heating do not mean any good with circuit boards.
You might want to Power-Off and disconnect one thing after the other. Maybe the problem come from another components which avoid the board to boot.
