Afinibot A3 Control Board

Hello,

I purchased a Affinibot A3 printer from Robotshop about 1 1/2 years ago. I had an issue where the 3d filament got tangled and stalled out the Nema17 stepper, which in turn burnt out the motor driver on the board for the extruder. The board I have on the printer has all the drivers attached to the board and can not be changed. The board has two connections for multiple extruders, but only has a single extruder.

Question 1 - Is it possible to switch from the E0 to the unused E1 socket of the control board? Would this something I would have to change in the firm ware or is it possible to change a setting in Repetier Host?

Queston 2 - You have two control boards on your website RB-AFF-54 and RB-AFF-62 (for an A1 and A3 printer respectively). Neither one of these look like the one the one supplied with my machine as they have replaceable drivers. They do look identical on your website. Will the RB-AFF-54 work on the A3 printer as there is little information given on either boards.

Or should I just replace everything with the MKS Gen V1.4?

Jamie

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay.

Concerning the first question you would be better answered by contacting the manufacturer directly: [email protected]
I believe that they could also answer the second questions since it is pretty hard to determine but I wouldn’t recommend using the A1 replacement board on a A3 printer.
