Hello,

I finished assembling the Afinibot A1 and did all the wiring. However, when I turn the unit on the blue LCD light comes on but there is no text. I tried to update the firmware but same thing happens, no text.

When the unit is connected to my computer via USB, it seems to be recognized. I can even connect to it in the Repeater software but I cannot send any commands.

Any ideas?

Edit :

When updating the firmware, I get the following message : stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00

Googling this error message tells me that its either because I am using the wrong port (pretty sure I have the right one) or I have the wrong controller setting (I’m using ATmega1284p as shown in the update guide). Did Afinibot update the controller without changing the documentation?

We already replied to your support ticket but here is a copy of our message:

Updating the firmware is not a good idea, your problem is most probably not related to this.
The error you have when trying to update it seems to be related to Drivers / Board type selected.

First thing to try would be to remove the micro SD card from your Melzi (green) board and connect it to your computer.
Then follow the instruction on how to install the USB driver in the manual.
