Adjustable actuator

Hi, I’m trying to setup a system that needs to deliver an adjustable pressure between 2250 psi to 3750 psi and at an adjustable rate of 1mm/second to 5mm/second.

I’m trying to figure out if this is possible with an Electromechanical actuator or any other system .I’m new to the field of actuators and apologize for any errors in terminology or units.

Would greatly appreciative any help and suggestions/ wisdom on the idea.

Warm wishes to all,
Vik

Hi Vik,

The term PSI is not something you will get in linear actuators, it’s mostly for fluids. (info)
In theory it’s possible to apply pressure with a linear actuator.

Hi **DiaLFonZo,

Thanks for the response.

I’m new to this field and i understand your point.

I need the system to work between 150-250 bar and at a speed of 1 millimeter / second to 5mm/s

So any ideas on the kind of setup i will need?

Any inputs or links/ ideas will be really appreciated.

Thanks again,
vik

Hi Vik,

You need a force measure not a pressure measure if you are going to search for an actuator. Using BAR is not any better than PSI.
It would be around 3625lbs/squre inch (here) which is one hell of an actuator.

I think our biggest would be 2000lbs HERE.

Hi DiaLFonZo,

Thanks again.

Will do a lot more research on this and definitely get back on this.

Really appreciate the support.
