Address for Breakout Board for MCP4725 I2C DAC

hello,

Im looking at this product: robotshop.com/en/sfe-breakout-board-for-mcp4725-i2c-dac.html?gclid=CPSnptKA6cACFUMLMgodEmYA0w#Useful Links

Im wondering what the fixed address bits are. In other words what will the I2C address be?

A0 isnt broken out…which is kind of disappointing since you can then only get one of these on an I2C line. I have 2 others from adafruit (with A0 broken out) on the same line but I need three, so as long as this has a fixed A1 or A2 address bit different than those of the ones I have, I should be fine.

thanks for any help.

Hi, the schematic shows that A0 is pulled to ground, and the datasheet shows that A1 and A2 are both 0, so the address of the board is 0x60.

The datasheet says:

Im assuming robotshop orders these and does the surface mount…or they order them from someone who orders from the manufacturer. Either way someone selects A1 and A2, or you get the default ‘00’. So, it would be useful to know what the fixed bits were set to. Adafruit has ‘01’ so robotshop could easily have the same ones (no good for me), or they have default, or they selected their own…I ordered two already so hopefully they are default…

RobotShop is not the manufacturer for the breakout board - it’s from Sparkfun.
