Actuonix Linear Actuator Control Board

Hi,

I am trying to run “PQ12 Linear Actuator 20mm, 100:1, 12V, Potentiometer” with “Actuonix Linear Actuator Control Board” and software provided in the documents from robotoshop website - Firgelli LAC configuration utility.

I have connected actuator to the board and powered the board with 2 1.5V batteries (3V). I have also connected the USB to board and laptop running the software. the LAC software reads “Device not detected: Verify connection/correct firmware”. Do I have to install any drivers to run the actuator through laptop?

Check the attached picture for more details about my connetion

The PQ-12 is a 12V linear actuator… not sure why you are only using 3V for power?

Ooops…rookie mistake. I switched to 12V power supply. It still shows the same error.

Did you install the device driver? If it’s not detecting the board, then the device drive was not installed or did not install well, and/or the device is not properly powered.
Your power connections seem to be ok, but it would be good to see an updated image.

I got the same problem. Actuonix LAC Configulation Utility" says Device Not Detected, although I connected LAC via usb to PC. By connecting usb to PC, the usb recognizing sound came out from PC, and DC12V power supply connection is linked to the usb recognition sound, too. So, I’m afraid of problem of software. I use windows10 PC (64bit) and updated the windows.
“Actuonix+LAC+Configuration+Utility-1.5-Setup.exe” was used for the installation.

Potentially a driver issue? Check out: https://www.robotshop.com/media/files/pdf/lac_windows_8.1_install.pdf

Thank you! Now, it works.

Let me ask one more.
I’d like to use “Cycle test” shown in “Firgelli LAC Configuration Utility-1.4-Setup”.
But, the tab doesn’t appear in “Actuonix+LAC+Configuration+Utility-1.5-Setup.exe”,
and I couldn’t find “~ Utility-1.4-Setup.exe”.
What can I do?

That’s a good question - not sure without recreating the entire setup, so the fastest way would be to reach out to the manufacturer directly at [email protected]
It sounds like - based on what you see - it was a feature they removed, but they’ll know better.

Thanks a lot!
