Hello , Which 12v actuator will push and stay in one direction until the next time it has current to it?
would it need a controller?
I’m just trying to dived Coin 50/50 with a hopper with a Flap in it.
Thank you Dan

Hi,
A linear actuator is based on a DC Motor, therefore, to reverse the direction you will need to reverse the polarity of the power input.
For this, you can use a DPDT switch. For example :
]Momentary Manual DPDT Rocker Switch : will return to the off position as soon as you release the button/:m]
]Sustaining Manual DPDT Rocker Switch : the button will keep its position, so the actuator will push into that direction until it hits the limit switch/:m]
If you are planning for more advanced control of the actuator, you will need a DC Actuator/Motor Driver as the Actuonix Linear Actuator Control Board and a microcontroller.
