Actuator controller

Hi there,

We have a lift system we designed that has very tight geometry. We have gas lift struts to help with initial liftoff giving the actuators help till it gets a couple inches of rise. When closing the lift it gets to the last few inches then violently slams down. We’re thinking of some sort of controller to step the motor down gradually? Do you have any thought on something that may work for this application?
Thanks

If you want the process to be automatic, you’ll need some type of input (distance sensor for example) and microcontroller.
Alternatively, what actually stops the actuator? If there’s a limit switch, it might be as simple as moving that limit switch up slightly.
