I am seeking to use actuator RB-Fra-28 to push/pull in the vertical plane. Will this actuator support load when the motor is not running? ie I need to unclamp the load and then start the motor - will the actuator be forced down by the load at this instance. The load will be some 80lb.

Hi Adam,
Yes the actuator will move down if force is applied without the motor being energized.
The higher the gear ratio inside a gearbox or screw type actuator, the harder it will be to move it but still will be able to move.
