I have sen there is a voltage sensor offered in the website: robotshop.com/en/phidgets-pr … ensor.html
I wanted to make sure that this voltage can measure 24 V AC.

I would appreciate so much if you could answer me as soon as possible.

Hi,

The voltage sensor robotshop.com/en/phidgets-pr … ensor.html measures the differential voltage between the input terminals and outputs the difference proportionally.
It measures voltage from -30V DC to +30V DC. It can’t be used to measure 24V AC.

What if I take multiple samples in one period and the the maximum difference? Then I might me able to at leasts know if there is some AC voltage right?

Hi,

We can’t confirm that measuring an AC voltage with DC voltage sensor will work. You may damage the sensor since it’s not AC compatible.

How could I damage it? If I’m applying al voltage that is in the range (-30 to 30v) and in the bandwidth (80kHz)

Hi,

The manufacturer intended that this product is for DC voltage measurement and is not designed to measure AC voltage. Should you decide to try anyway, we’ll not be able to support you. You may notice that AC voltage frequency can’t be handled by this sensor since its response time is 10ms=100Hz frequency.
