Hi all havent being on for ages .... back to my old hobby Poker ... but started messing around again ... and have a question.
came across simple generator online and thought id try and make one as it looked easy ... well easy enough if u have a proper magnet lol ... anyway got it sorted with the collection of small magnets i found lying around .
required items wire and magnet ... and something to wrap wire around and something .. eg bar to attach magnets to ... then rotate magnets inside wire and presto electricity
had only small magnets so wanting to light up red led knew i was going to need 2v and .020 current ... and persumed my first attempt of producing this from my little generator was going to hit a problem with producing 2v
so attached a jewls thief to the circut and sorted ....
NOW THE QUESTION ....... i understand from DC power eg in batteries ... if you want more voltage you can link batteries to get the required voltage eg two 1.5v batteries linked can give 3v or linked the other way gives more current .
But is this the case with AC electricity ????? if i make 3 simple generators (or 20 or more ) can they be linked to up the voltage ... or is it as i suspect if i connect them all to a bread board id gain the extra current but not up the Voltage.
or is the only way of increasing the voltage from using stronger magnets ... i could probably fit a transformer but read these up voltage but at a cost of current and still have to look into doing this as i havent any experience in using a transformer yet.
i found plenty of sites showing the making of these but none expanding on the whys and what ifs ...
anyway if u could answer my question on AC volts that would be a great help.
