About SSC 32 + ESC + Motor

Hi All,

I have following configuration,

SSC 32 servo controller,
Electronic speed controller,
12 V DC Motor

I connected the motor to esc and also connected esc to ssc-32 card. Everything is working very nice. I can control the motor using my PC. I have experience with servo motors before but this is my first experience with motors. When using servos it was very easy to locate servo to given degree. Is it possible to locate the motor to a specific degree? or is there any way to calculate how much the motor rotated in degrees (with software)?

For a DC motor, you’ll want to add encoders, and then control the motor driver electronics with a PID algorithm.

Look at Something like the RoboClaw for a driver w/ software control and electronics. Or use something like the Sabertooh drivers, and implement your own PID on the BAP.
