About 30cm Infrared Distance Sensor

Hi, i’m new but I need to know if this IR sensor https://www.robotshop.com/uk/30cm-infrared-distance-sensor.html can be use with a distance of 60 centimeters or after 30 centimeters the emitter is not enough powerful. I will use this sensor in plastic box to protect those from others light emitters and inside. Because I used the SHARP sensor, but it doesn’t works good in my application of object detector and activate a relay.

According to the manufacturer’s details, the range is up to 30 cm.

However, it could work with a longer distance depending on the environment as you mentioned.
