A4wd1 PS2 internet control questions

I would like to set it up for internet control as well as have a wireless web cam. I am a complete newb when it comes to robotics and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

I plan on mounting my eeepc to it and running through remote desktop with a usb webcam. I just really just need to know what connections need to be made from the eeepc to the robot and how to do that and what if any program I can use to be able to control it from the eeepc.

Thanks

You need to detail the capability of your eeepc. I looked on the web and it appears to be more of an internet device than a laptop computer. What OS does it use? What types of I/O ports does it have?

OS
Windows XP

Processor
900 MHz[1][2] Intel Celeron-M

Memory
512 MB SDRAM RAM

Graphics
Intel UMA

Display
7 inch (diagonal) TFT LCD with LED[3] backlight; 800×480 pixels (pels)

Connectivity
10/100 Mbit Ethernet
802.11b/g wireless LAN
3 USB 2.0 ports
MMC/SD card reader

A friend of mine came up with a good idea to use a remote control IR pc program to have it learn the PS2 controls then use that program with the IR transmitter via remote desktop. It might even allow for using both the ps2 controller and the program. I am not sure how customizable it would be IE might have to use channel up for right turns

Sounds like the eeepc is pretty much a standard laptop. You probably would use a USB serial adapter to communicate with the microcontrollers controling the rover, and use the remote desktop or other server setups to allow the eeepc to communicate with other computers.
