A4WD1 CAD Models or Drawings?

Hi All,

I’ve been searching through both the forums and the lynxmotion website and I can’t seem to find any solid models or even basic mechanical drawings of the A4WD1 rover. Does anyone know if these are available?

It would be great to be able to use proper prints to build from instead of having to reverse engineer the rover before starting my mechanical design.

Many thanks,
Tristan

Unfortunately the A4WD1 was not designed using 3D CAD software and as such, there are no complete mechanical drawings. As we currently have other pressing priorities, perhaps someone from the user community has already drawn the A4WD1 adnd can send it to us to upload to the CAD page:

Are you looking to copy the 4WD1? You don’t need all that just to put it together.

Any basic dimensions fo the chassis? LxWxD I’m trying plan my robots layout with A4wd1 for SLAM and I can’t find any reference drawings/CAD models.

Unfortunately the dimensional drawings for the A4WD1 are not public, but here are some details:

  • Overall Length: 12.00"
  • Overall Width: 13.50"
  • Tire Height: 4.75"
  • Chassis Length: 9.75"
  • Chassis Width: 8.00"
  • Chassis Height: 4.00"
  • Ground Clearance: 1.63"

A4WD1 v2 top Lexan plate:

  • Width: 7.75" (as you can see, slightly recessed from either side)
  • Length: 8.0" (the front and rear aluminum plates protrude beyond the Lexan)

If you plan to use a lidar, you might want to opt for an add-on deck which you can easily drill into: https://www.robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion-4wd1-add-on-deck-blank.html

Thanks for reverting with dimensions… Glad that you mentioned the deck… that definitely helps with the lidar placement… in case I mess up the Lexan plate can I order just the Lexan plate top/bottom in the future?

They’re not available on the site, but we should be able to sell them separately. If you have not yet placed your order, you can indicate you would like to purchase a few spare bottom plates (no openings for servos).
