A4WD1 Autonomous Kit: Batteries

Hi,

I just bought the A4WD1 autonomous kit (botboarduino).
I’m really new to electronic and the assembly guide doesn’t provide much information.
As I would like to avoid toasting everything when I’ll plug it on… I will ask a couple of questions first.

  1. The sabertooth 2x10 R/C specifies we can connect lipos to it (between 2S and 6S).
But I suppose there is no regulator ? So I have to choose between 2S and 6S according to the motor specs ?

  2. If that’s the case, my motors are GHM-01, so 12VCC.
    Which lipo should I use to power the motors ? 3S (11,1V) ? or 4S (14,8V) ?
(Btw, I always used lipo, but would nimh batteries be a better choice) ?

  3. What do you recommend to power the botboarduino ?
    Can I use Lipo’s ? If yes, should I use 2S or 3S lipos ?

  4. Something I didn’t understand in the user guide:
Can I use the servo voltage to power the board it-self or should I use a third battery ?

Thank you,

Ben
