We mounted lynx5 robotic arm on A4wd rover. We have all the three sensors in front. With the arm we want the robot to pick up some object but we don’t know how to distinguish between the wall and object. We don’t have color sensors. We just have sensors that detects the obstacles. Is there any way to distinguish between wall and object?

Try one or more sensors:
You should be able to “sweep” past an object to pick up, and get a pair of edges. A wall most likely won’t have these pairs of edges.
Look at the last item: TSL1401 Linescan Imaging Sensor Daughterboard
I ordered one, it looks like a promising way to detect things like table edges, and objects.
