A question about the SSC-32

hi all :
I have a quesiton about the SSC-32 board.
I don’t know if it’s correct of my understanding below.
Please give me some instructions if I was wrong… :stuck_out_tongue:

I think there is a pre-written code that is programmed in the Atmel MCU (GP FW i guess?) ,
so that the SSC-32 board becomes a “servo controller”, which can accept the short command from BAP, and perform some movement on certain servos.
As for the EEPROM, I think it’s used to save some sequences, so that once there is certain command send from BAP, the MCU can read back the sequences
from the EEPROM, and sequentially perform the movement of the servos.
Is that correct?

The other thing is, how can I read the code of the FW in SSC-32?
Or, how do we create a FW for the MCU on SSC-32?
Should I buy the Visual sequencer, and use it to create the FW?

Thanks a lot for reading this post. 8)

Using the SEQ program is one way to build sequences and store them on the EEProm. You can also look at the user guides and create them manually.

The firmware is a program on the chip to run the SSC-32. There are more than one versions of the firmware. You can change the firmware to get the features you want, but it doesn’t have anything to do with, creating, sequences in EEProm.

Hi!
Instead of open another Thread, I m going to use this one for a question.

My concerns are about the SSC-32 because as far as I know the TTL Level of the ATmega168 are max +5 and 0 Volt. BUT from my seriallport in my pc I can read up to +12 and -12 V.
So can I connect my serial port on my PC to the SSC-32 directly or I need another device btween them???

Thanks
Regards

You should be able to connect a pc serial output to the DB9 connector on the ssc-32 (that is what it is made for).
