Just playing tonight…

(Better i can do with the drawing i have)

I’m very touched by your gift
thank you very much

to be continued

new pictures.
all 6 legs are mounted to the body

Remote controle:Done
I need to add two extra pot but i’m afraid because i haven’t other gimbals like those or screws to replace it if i miss my work :unamused:

**I need your help  **
I’m searching for aluminium…
if someone could tell me a serious site that delivers precut aluminum blocks.( with PayPal ).
it still for the Ant pod and (Johnny 5 reproduction)

i think i saw a link on a previous Xan’s topics

Looking good!

hi,

thanks a lot Kurte.

a video preview of the ant showing progress…

Great progress!
Are you planning to shape the upper body? You’ll need some more free space between the upper and lower plate if you plan to make the neck using SES brackets as I did.

thanks a lot Zenta.

I’ve already try to make abdomen like you but the first result is a failure.
I also try it with “util-plast” but i need to do a balsa structure.

For the upper body:
I made a test with a break servo and i cut it at each extremity. The servo is mounted to an aluminium cradle like the nose of johnny 5.

The 3 or 4 bumps along the body will be made with a plastic resin. I’ve already order black paint.

A second version of the upper body will be made for molding test

Where can I buy textured abs sheet like your A-pod and aluminium for milling? it’s for coxa part

progress of the day

  • rubber caps for leg :added
  • all legs are aligned to the center and calibrated to touch the ground at the same time

minor progression
SES cut. i need to order a metal spline

picture are blurry sorry(also with macro set)

simple video test without support —> Done
i did some error with the body.

Some add…

I am next for a kit…!! LOL

@RoboticAl

Iv been following your progress with your project. great work. its good to see someone taking on such a remodel.
also looks very cool in white.

unique.

wonderful work too.
I follow the topic “DIY Remote control Casing”
I would like master the 3D like you

thanks a lot for your interest for my project.

I like your Animatronic Hawk Project … remake soon maybe
In fact, I dislike the easy things

today, I 've received "foam rubber " and P Clip

I worked on code to move the abdomen without success yet
I made a try with atan function considering abdomen and head like two dummy leg

That’s good to know… Tanks

new pictures of head joint(mounted)

I cut a heatsink to make the custom part. Head is fixing from above and bottom

Hi,

It looks like you are not planning to add the supporting C-bracket for head rotations (roll)?
If so, that might stress the servo shaft a lot. Especially when holding heavy objects.

Hi Zenta,
i don’t forget it but I’m missing a spline :frowning: to finish it
I probably need a lesson in kinematic by “kinematic kung fu master” to code head and abdomen.

Today, I redo abdomen joint (still out of heatsink)

Todo:

  • left mandible . adjustment and screws and many other things.
  • reinforcements of the servo with aluminium

It’s not as perfect as the Original but I’m working on
