Hi.
I ordered a CH3-R kit a few weeks ago and i thought it was time to give you guys some feedback.
First of all i want to say that the overall customer service has been excellent. Generally good and fast feedback on my questions and a forum with tons of information has been great. The purchase process was a little intimidating at first as i had to make a wire transfer. However this turned out to be no problem at all and the wares was sent shortly after.
Delivery time was as expected when shipping to the other side of the world. The items arrived 19.03.09, one day late. The delay however was due to the inefficiency of the UPS department here in my hometown.
I sat down with the kit at 5:00pm in the afternoon and 3:15am the kit was built and I was walking it around with the PS2 controller. I had great fun building it and the kit was really good. Everything matched up perfectly and fit together like a charm. I really liked the way all the parts came in it’s own little plastic bag. It made it really easy to have control of all the parts at all times. Seems like you guys really know what you are doing. It is amazing how caught up you can get when working with a project like this. The documentation was easy to find on your web page and the instructions supplemented by the pictures made the process of putting it together really smooth and fun. The software, both the PowerPod and the Basic Micro ATOM IDE, I found quite intuitive and easy to use. The tutorials on using these programs was also good.
If you are wondering what product to bye from Lynxmotion I would definitely recommend the CH3-R kit.
The CH3-R is now parked for a while as I am swamped with schoolwork and school projects. However, me being an electronics student I am looking forward to taking a plunge in to the process of learning to program the Basic Atom myself. I have only used C and Assembly to program micro-controllers before. However i have a lot of experience using C, Assembly, C++, C# and VHDL and hope I am up for the challenge of learning yet an other language.
I have some plans for some custom content on the robot. I will write about that here on the forum once it’s done.
Overall my experience with Lynxmotion so far is very positive.
